At StolenCar, we are focused on helping victims of auto theft leverage the power of the internet and social networks to recover their stolen vehicles. Over 750,000 vehicles are stolen in the United States each year. Many of these vehicles are used in the commission of other crimes and then abandoned by the thieves. Depending on where they abandoned your vehicle hundreds or thousands of people may be walking right past these cars, but they have no way of knowing it is your vehicle and you want it back.
The Nation’s Neighborhood Watch for Stolen Vehicles informs people in your region that your car is stolen and offers to pay them a reward for reporting the location of you vehicle to the police. We pay the reward not you. We communicate to our registered users through email alerts, SMS, RSS, and social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, and Google+. Local news outlets subscribe to our RSS feeds and include information about your vehicle on their websites. License Plate Recognition Cameras look out for your vehicle. In short — we get the word out to the public and incentivize them to look out for your vehicle.
Registering your vehicle in the StolenCar online database is free of charge. This will enable the public to confirm that your vehicle is stolen. If you wish to have the Alerts sent out on your vehicle to our registered users in your area and disseminated through our own social media networks, you will need to upgrade to our Premium Registration.
